Rhinos Stomp the Hockey Nuts

Posted by Mitch Cudby on Nov 17 2008 at 11:05PM PST
It was what the Rhinos were looking for. A performance for a full 52 minutes may just be the little bit of confidence that the team needs. The Rhinos never looked back after they took the lead in the second frame. They were firing on all cylinders from the drop of the puck in both aspects of play, thanks in large part to the captain’s decision to juggle the lines. Paul Revitt tied the game midway through the first with his 5th of the year, on a short-handed breakaway, on a snap shot to the blocker side of the hockey nut’s tender. That seem to spark the team who continued to pour it on offensively throughout the game, tallying 45 shots on the opposition. Rhinos gained the lead just under 2 minutes into the middle frame, when hard work behind the net eventually led to the go-ahead goal by Mitch Cudby, who scored his 6 goal of the campaign and first of 2 in the game by banking it in off the goalie. The line of Brad Patrick, Mitch Cudby, and Kevin long, combined for 6 points, with Patrick scoring his 6th goal as well. Other tallies came from Capt. Kyle Seltzer, and Defenseman Adam Lee. Also, we should make note that goaltender Kyle Atkins turned aside 21 of 22 shots for his first victory of the year. The rhinos will now prepair for their next tilt, against a much more highly skilled team, the Brew’ns on Friday.
